According to military bloggers, Russia dismisses a general for making fabricated statements regarding the war's progress in Ukraine.
According to Russian media and military bloggers, Russia dismissed a senior commander from his position for fabricating statements regarding the state of the conflict in areas of eastern Ukraine.
The bloggers claim that Colonel General Gennady Anashkin, the commander of the South Forces Group, was fired for giving false information regarding Russia's advancements close to the Siversk town in the eastern Donetsk region.
Anashkin was removed as part of a scheduled rotation, according to anonymous sources in the Russian Ministry of Defence who were quoted by Russian media RBC. Russian officials have not provided an official confirmation.
According to Ukraine's army leader, Ukrainian soldiers are up against "one of the most powerful Russian offensives" since the beginning of the conflict on the front lines.
However, some areas have seen slower improvement, with numerous communities becoming "synonymous with lies and unjustified losses," according to a Telegram post by Rybar, one of the most well-known Russian military blogs.
In reference to several communities close to the frontline that Anashkin allegedly lied about seizing, Rybar continued, "Only the lazy did not write about the problems there: in general, it took the system about two months to respond to it properly."
According to certain blogs, Russian soldiers have suffered significant losses as a result of various commanders' inaccurate reporting regarding the situation on the ground.
Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, military bloggers have emerged as a crucial information source. Many have strong ties to pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine or the state's military forces.
