Cristiano Ronaldo was shown a red card for pushing a rival during the Saudi Super Cup match.

In the Saudi Super Cup semifinal, Cristiano Ronaldo received a red card for elbowing an opponent during Al-Nassr's loss to Al-Hilal.

The incident happened late in Monday's match in Abu Dhabi when the Portuguese striker got into a brawl with Ali Al-Bulayhi of Al-Hilal during stoppage time in the second half.

After putting his elbow in center back Al-Bulayhi's chest and throat and seemingly raising his fist to the referee, he was given a straight red card.

After Ronaldo left, Sadio Mané scored for Al-Nassr, although Al-Hilal had previously won 2-1 thanks to goals from Malcom and Salem Al-Dawsari.

Al-Hilal continued its remarkable run under manager Jorge Jesus with their 33rd straight victory, setting a record for the most consecutive victories in club history.

It took until the 61st minute for Al-Dawsari to make it 1-0 after Otávio's attempt to put Al-Hilal ahead at the end of the first half was disallowed for offside.

Malcom, who had earlier in the half struck the crossbar with a long-range attempt, quickly headed the team's second goal into the ground later in the half.

Mané's late goal was a consolation following Ronaldo's red card, but there was no turning back for Al-Nassr from there.

The 39-year-old has experienced disciplinary problems on previous occasions since moving to Saudi Arabia. He was fined and given a one-match suspension earlier this year for making a thrusting motion with his groin toward onlookers during a Saudi Pro League (SPL) game.

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will probably finish this season without a trophy after the loss on Monday. The team, which was eliminated from the Asian Champions League as well, trails Riyadh rival Al-Hilal by 12 points in the SPL.

Now, on Thursday in Abu Dhabi, Al-Hilal will play Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup final.
