The bloodiest Hezbollah rocket strikes in months killed seven people in Israel.

An agricultural area close to Kibbutz Afek, which is roughly 65 km (40 miles) southwest of Metula and 28 km from the Lebanese border, was apparently struck by Thursday's second rocket attack.

According to the military, in the early afternoon, 55 missiles were fired in the direction of the Central Galilee, Upper Galilee, and Western Galilee, which is where the kibbutz is situated. It further stated that some of the rockets fell in wide spaces while others were intercepted.

Mina Hasson, 60, and her 30-year-old son, Karmi, were murdered when a missile struck an olive grove where they were harvesting olives, according to Haaretz.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service reported that a 70-year-old man was also transported to Rambam hospital after suffering minor shrapnel injuries.

Paramedics Mazor and Yishai Levy of the MDA told the Jerusalem Post, "We were called to the olive grove and saw a man in his 30s lying on the ground, unconscious."

While doing additional searches, we discovered another casualty who was also critically injured and suffering from multiple systems injuries. We then started resuscitation operations. Sadly, we had to declare them both dead even though we treated her medically and performed resuscitation," they stated.

A missile fired at Israel on Wednesday night struck a UN peacekeeping base in southern Lebanon that housed Irish troops, according to the chief of the Irish military.

According to Lt Gen Sean Clancy, the rocket caused little damage on the ground and no casualties when it landed inside an empty section of Camp Shamrock, which is 7 kilometers (4 miles) from the Israeli border.

"Fortunately, everyone is safe, but it is totally unacceptable that this happened," stated Irish Premier Simon Harris. International law provides protection for peacekeepers, and it is the responsibility of all parties to guarantee that protection.

US diplomats are promoting a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

As two US special envoys met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem to explore a potential ceasefire agreement to end the war with Hezbollah, the fatal missile attacks in northern Israel occurred.

According to a statement from his office, Netanyahu informed Brett McGurk and Amos Hochstein that the primary concern was Israel's capacity to "thwart any threat to its security from Lebanon in a way that will return our residents safely to their homes."

Following nearly a year of cross-border violence triggered by the war in Gaza, Israel launched an offensive against Hezbollah, which it classifies as a terrorist organization.

The day after its ally Hamas's devastating attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Hezbollah started missile attacks in support of Palestinians, displacing tens of thousands of civilians in northern Israeli border communities. The group declared it wished to assure the safe return of these people.

Since then, Lebanese authorities say that more than 2,800 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 2,200 in the last five weeks, and that 1.2 million more have been displaced.

According to Israeli officials, Hezbollah rocket, drone, and missile attacks in northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights have killed over 60 people.

The Israeli military said earlier Thursday that planes had hit scores of Hezbollah targets across Lebanon and that troops were still conducting operations inside southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the health ministry of Lebanon said that six paramedics were killed in three southern towns by Israeli attacks.

Israeli forces struck a gathering place at Derdghaya crossroads, killing four members of the Islamic Health Society's Civil Defence branch, which provides emergency services and is associated with Hezbollah, the statement added.

According to the ministry, a paramedic from the Islamic Risala Scout Association, which is connected to the Amal movement, which is aligned with Hezbollah, was murdered in a strike in Zefta, and a fifth IHS paramedic was killed in an airstrike on a car in Deir al-Zahrani.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment. But since it stepped up its air campaign against Hezbollah five weeks ago, scores of paramedics and other emergency personnel have been killed or injured.

Hezbollah has been accused by the military in the past of transporting fighters and weapons in ambulances. The IHS has denied any involvement in military activities.

A day after the Israeli military ordered the evacuation of the entire city and two nearby towns, there were also new Israeli attacks in the eastern Bekaa Valley, close to Baalbek.

A strike in the Kayyal area claimed the life of a woman, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA) of Lebanon.

The bombing of a house in Maqna, which is 5 km northeast of Baalbek but was not in the evacuation area, claimed another six lives.
